Donovan Laurence Brumfield, 78, of Gallipolis, passed away, at 11:37 pm on Thursday, May 18, 2017 in the Abbyshire Place. Born February 15, 1939 in Crown City, he was the son of the late Esco Thomas and Cornelia Iva Bevans Brumfield. He was a mechanic and retired from the Gallia County State Garage, he also attended the Elizabeth Chapel Church.
Don is survived by his children, Cynthia Wray, of Ocala, Fl., Beth Brumfield, of Bidwell, Paula Supple, of Gallipolis Ferry, Wv., and Jason (Heather) Brumfield, of Gallipolis, step-children, Sherry Powers, Debra Mink, and Larry (Cindy) Scott, grandchildren, Nathan Wray, Tyler Wray, Jasmine Parsons, Brandon (Brittney) Bonecutter, Whitney Bonecutter, Jenson Brumfield, Dustin Mink, Lindsey (Garrett) Robinson, Larry (Heather) Scott, Jr., Ashley (James) Johnson, and William (Billy) Powers, II., and several great-grandchildren. Don’s siblings, Wendell (Karen) Brumfield, of Gallipolis, Janet (Angelo) Dimeco, of Cheshire, Irvin (Glenda) Brumfield, of Gallipolis, Raymond (Paula) Brumfield, of Minford, Ivan (Roxie) Brumfield, of Crown City, and Terry (Vicky) Brumfield, of Gallipolis, and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
In addition to his parents Don is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Jane Brumfield, on Sept 2, 2014 his siblings, Hollis Brumfield, Alice Gillenwater, Eugene Brumfield, Jeff Brumfield, Phyllis Brumfield and Rita Brumfield.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 in the Cremeens-King Funeral Chapel, Gallipolis. Pastor Alfred Holley will officiate and interment will follow in the Ridgelawn Cemetery, Mercerville. Friends may call from 6-8 pm on Monday at the funeral home.
