Judith Kay Sowers Blue, 74, Rio Grande Community, passed away at 3:50 P.M. Friday, September 15, 2017, in the Holzer Medical Center in Gallipolis. Born October 7, 1942 in Vinton County, Ohio she was the daughter of the late Willard Glen and Margaret Lovina Allender Sowers. She retired after 35 year of service as a registered nurse at the Pleasant Valley Hospital in Point Pleasant, West Virginia. Judy was a member of the New Life Lutheran Church.
She is survived by her husband, Robert C. Blue, whom she married June 9, 1963 in the First Baptist Church in Wellston, Ohio and two daughters, Suzanne (Brad) Warnimont, of Rio Grande, and Jennifer (Randy) Coleman, of Dublin, Ohio, grandchildren, Caleb N. Warnimont, Tyler D. Warnimont, Claire A. Coleman and Jackson T. Coleman. Judy is also survived by her sisters, Jean Y. (Clarence) Ward, of McArthur, Ohio and JoAnn Haskins, of McArthur, Ohio and her brother, William E. (Nancy) Sowers, of Wellston,Ohio.
Funeral services will be 3:00 P.M. Sunday, September 17, 2017, in the New Life Lutheran Church, 900 Jackson Pike, Gallipolis. Officiating will be Pastor John Jackson, Interment will follow in the Ridgewood Cemetery in Wellston. Matthew P. Haskins, William A. Haskins, Caleb N. Warnimont, Tyler D. Warnimont, Jackson T. Coleman and Michael D. Dixon will serve as casketebearers. Friends may call two hours prior to the funeral service at the Church. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in Judith's memory to Holzer Hospice. The Cremeens-King Funeral Home,Gallipolis, has been entrusted with Judy's arrangements.
