Gloria Jean (Carpenter) Plese

Gloria J. Plese, 74, of Gallipolis, passed away unexpectedly, on Jun 2, 2017 in the St. Mary’s Medical Center, Huntington, Wv., Born January 10, 1943 in Springfield, Il., she was the daughter of the late John “Jack” and Savannah Osterdock Carpenter. She graduated from the Lock Port High School, Lock Port Il, in 1961 and the Hocking Technical College, in Logan, Ohio in 1983. After her college graduation she was employed as a Deputy for the Gallia County Sheriff’s Department. She enjoyed swimming and drawing and was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church of Point Pleasant, Wv. She loved the Lord and her greatest happiness was her children and grandchildren.

Gloria is survived by her son, John Plese II, of Montgomery, Il, a daughter, Cherie Plese, of Bidwell, a grandson, John “Marty” Plese, III, of Martinsburg, WV., a granddaughter, Cayla Plese, of Columbus, Oh. Two sisters-in-laws, several nieces, nephews and a host of friends also survive.

In addition to her parents, Gloria is preceded in death by her loving husband, John Plese, an infant daughter, Mandy, and her favored brother, John “Jack” Carpenter II.
