Dale Lloyd Lawson, 84, of Portland, passed away, at 10:15 p.m. on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at his residence. Born August 14, 1932 in Portland, he was the son of the late John and Olive Gluesencamp Lawson. He was a retired carpenter and was a member of the Carpenters Local # 650, in Pomeroy. He was also a member of the Stiversville Community Church.

He is survived by his wife Nancy Coppick Lawson, whom he married on August 9, 1970, in Long Bottom, two daughters, Zella (David) Laudermilt, of Pomeroy, Bonnie (Billy) Glaze, of Tuppers Plains, two sons, David Lawson, and Jerry Lawson, both of Portland, nine grandchildren, Bryce (Sasha) Laudermilt, Michael Laudermilt, Janessa (Alexander) King, Oliva Lane, Peyton Lawson, Jayden Lawson, Kwesi Lane, Erin Glaze, and Kasey Glaze, five  great-grandchildren, Ashlyn Laudermilt, Leyann Laudermilt, and Brylen Laudermilt, Austin Laudermilt. A brother, Albert (Sue) Lawson, of Portland, sisters, Ruby Congo, of Middleport, and Phyllis Whaley, of Shade, Oh., his best friend, Gene Ward, and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his sisters, Daisey VanMeter and Wilma Mae Hellwig, brothers, Charles, Delbert, Glen, and Robert Lawson.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, March 13, 2017 in the Cremeens-King Funeral Home, Racine. Interment will follow in the Stiversville Cemetery. Friends may call two hours prior to the service. Expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family by visiting www.cremeensking.com
